Penniston Barn is a restored and refurbished home set in gardens within a rural location near Tingrith, Bedfordshire. It offers a calm and tranquil environment away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and is conducive and sensitive to supporting the diverse needs of our guests.
Penniston Barn is registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide accommodation, personal care and support for up to six people aged between 18-65 years who have a Learning Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or behaviour that challenges those around them. Really Flexible Care will provide excellent care, support and learning opportunities in all independent living skills to enable the individual to fulfil their full potential. We pride ourselves in the ability to meet the unique needs of each person in our care. We work in partnership with them, their families and other relevant professionals; always adopting a person centred approach which identifies their individual needs and provides the appropriate care and support.
We welcome the individual with their parents and/or carers to be actively involved in personalising bedrooms and communal spaces.
Penniston Barn aims
- To provide home from home comforts with each bedroom having its own en-suite shower room and the space for personal belongings.
- To provide access to a safe and fully equipped garden area complete with outdoor swings and trampolines.
- To provide access to a horticultural area for growing vegetables as well as a livestock area for chickens.
- To empower each individual to make positive choices regarding all aspects of their care, both at present and in the future.
Penniston Barn is set in three an a half acres in Wood End near Tingrith in Bedfordshire; which has easy access to the M1 motorway and is accessible to amenities in the surrounding areas. The busy town of Flitwick is just 5 minutes away which is served by a main bus route and train station.
On site we have many vehicles and a mini bus to take the people out for recreational activities and outings.
We also adopt a lifelong learning approach with Penniston Barn, with access to advisors to work with the individuals to identify learning, leisure and accreditation opportunities.
